Open Access
At our clinic, we operate as an open access provider—which means we’re not contracted with vision insurance plans. While this might sound unusual at first, it’s actually a key part of how we provide you with better, more personalized care and greater value.
What open access means for you:
Did you know you can be reimbursed from your insurance?
We've put together a comprehensive guide to walk you through how much each insurance company typically reimburses:

What is open access? At Valet Vision, we use an Open Access model—a patient-centered approach that removes insurance barriers so we can focus entirely on your care. This model, first adopted by primary care providers, was created in response to the pressures of insurance networks that force doctors to rush visits and see more patients. The result is often less time, less clarity, and lower-quality care. We’ve brought this philosophy to optometry. By offering clear, upfront pricing and stepping away from insurance contracts, we can give you more time, better answers, and truly personalized care. Because at Valet Vision, we believe excellent eye care starts with open access to your doctor.

Will I be able to use my insurance? We can help file out-of-network claims for most insurance plans—except Medicare and Medicare-related plans (like Humana), which we’re legally unable to assist with. That said, our self-pay rates are often as good as, or better than, typical Medicare out-of-pocket costs. For other plans, we can check your out-of-network benefits ahead of time so you’ll know what to expect. In most cases, we can also help you file the claim, and you’ll receive your reimbursement by mail—on top of our already reduced Valet Vision rate.

Can I still use my vision benefits for glasses or contacts?Absolutely! You can use your benefits for glasses or contacts wherever you would like. This includes, but is not limited to, hometown optometry offices, Sam's/Costco, or online!

Do I have to be a Sam's Member to be seen at Valet Vision? Not at all! By OK law, Valet Vision is welcome to all patients. Now, if a patient wants to purchase glasses from Sam's, they will need a Sam's Club Membership.
